STROKE OF GENIUS

Well hello there dear gist partner!

Welcome to September!!!!

How have these first few days of the month been for you? Here’s hoping that the Lord grants you a smooth sail through this month and that the month is productive for you. 

Welcome to today’s gist. 

A couple of weeks ago, I was reading ‘All In’ by Brooke St James and I read a conversation that struck me and I thought to share. In the conversation, Lance was telling Sidney how one of his favourite things about his house was the view it gave him of the sky, and for as many evenings as he could, he would come out to watch the sky; each evening, the layering of the sky would be different, as though God took the time each day to paint a different picture in the sky for him to see and appreciate; he said that this was a reminder to him each day that God who is so intentional about the clouds and the sky is even more intentional about him. If God could put that much attention to detail in the elements, how much more would He do for humans, His most prized creation? 

Thinking about this for the past couple of weeks, I have to agree with Lance’s view. Even if you look at the sky during the day, you’ll see the clouds moving, shifting to form different shapes as the day progresses from morning to night. And this is the sky that the Lord just used mouth to create oo! He didn’t put the kind of effort that He put into creating humans to create anything else, yet even the elements tell the story of God’s awesome power and His intentionality! How much more would Hebdo for and in you!

Today, I am just here to encourage you, because I find that I need this encouragement a lot today too, that when life gets too hard, when everything seems to be crashing in on you and there seems to be no way forward, remember that the One who created and controls the Universe loves you and calls you His own, He is extremely intentional about you and He is not lacking of the power that is needed to help you. 

May our eyes look constantly to Jesus.

This song has been out for a minute now but I only got to listen to it about 2 weeks ago, and when I did, I had it on repeat for days! This song is a reminder that God’s love is bigger than what we think or can comprehend, He doesn’t love you because of something you’ve done, your best efforts won’t even cut it, He loves you because of who He is and because of His love, He sustains you. May this song bless your heart as it’s blessed mine.

PS. It’s 5 months today since we buried my father; I was talking to 2 of my siblings today and saying how it is so crazy that I’ve not really come to terms that my father is gone, yet so much time seems to have passed! I pray today for all whose hearts grieve like mine, may the Lord comfort you.
