FRIENDSHIP APPRECIATION
Hi there!
How are
you doing this fine October day? Happy New Month!
Welcome to
today’s gist.
So little
over a month ago, shortly after I moved back home from school, my phone went
bad. The way it happened is really quite funny: I was in a place with a really
poor network connection, I tried all I could to connect to the Internet but it wasn’t
working. Then I had the inspired idea to switch off my phone and turn it back
on in the hopes that the network connection would be better. I switched the
phone off and when I tried to switch it back on, it refused to come on.
Like play,
like play, na so my phone take spoil, I’ve taken it to be fixed but they’re
still trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with the phone.
But today’s
gist isn’t about my spoilt phone, it’s about the amazing individuals God has
blessed me with.
So, when
my phone went bad, my system did too, so I was completely cut off from communication
and interaction with the world, especially since my contacts are all saved to
my Google account. And then God began to show me anew the people He blessed me
with: I got a small phone after about 2 weeks and I put my sim cards in it. Few
hours after I did that, I got a call from my friend; she hadn’t seen me online
and she was about to make an application that she knew would be of benefit to
me so she called me to inform me of the need to make the application, and she
helped me get the application to where it needed to be.
And then
the calls began to pour in! My friends were calling to say they hadn’t seen me ‘around’
and just wanted to check in to make sure I am fine. I’m not going to even
pretend about it, having my friends do this has really been a blessing to me,
it shows me just how interested and invested in my life they are, to the extent
that they noticed that I haven’t been around.
When Law
School updated applicants’ admission status, I obviously didn’t know; my friend
called me to inform me, she went the extra mile to check my admission status
and called with the news that I have been admitted.
This period
has been a learning curve for me, it has taught me to learn to trust God more; there
are days when the thought of all that I could be doing but can’t do because I don’t
have a phone gets to me and messes with my head. On every such day, there’s a friend
reaching out to me to say ‘hi’ and I’m really grateful for each call and each
message, you have been God’s instrument to me,.
So this
is me saying “THANK YOU!” to all my friends, you all are a special gift from
God that I do not take for granted, and I pray that God will bless you all
immensely for your show of love, and I pray that I’m a wonderful friend to you
too like you are to me.
Thank you
so much!
Love,
Achenyo.
