CRITIQUES

 Hi😊.

How are you doing? I hope you're doing good and that God continues to guide you.

Welcome to today's gist.

I was cooking today and I  randomly remembered the first day I made swallow, this was sometime in my JSS1. When I began to cook, my dad would always grade my cooking and tell me the score after eating.

That first day I made swallow, I got 75%. It wasn't perfect but like my dad told me, it was an 'A'. I was feeling like one serious chef! It wasn't  until I got better at cooking that I realised how really terrible that first attempt was😅.

As I thought back to that incident, I juxtaposed it with another incident when my first attempt at something had been insulted and I realized that it was my dad's comment that gave me the impetus to continue to get better as opposed to the other scenario where the insult made me give up.

Sometimes people make attempts at certain things and bring these attempts to us to judge, it is very important that we are very careful with our words and how we pass judgment, you have no idea the amount of courage that endeavour required, and in "rubbishing" someone's work, you may be robbing them of the will and courage to try again.

I'm not asking you to be dishonest, I'm saying that in any situation where you're asked to give and opiniom on something, it is important to find one that is both honest and compassionate, the effect of your words can reach further than you contemplate.

I pray that God helps us watch our words, today and onwards.

Till next week.

Love,

Achenyo.
