HE KNOWS
Well hello there!
How are you doing? Welcome to the month of May.
Welcome to today's gist.
Have you ever planned something? Maybe you set out a course of action and how you want things to play out, the plans are really well thought out and have an almost guaranteed level of success.
Boom!
Life happens and it seems like the rug has been pulled from beneath your feet and you land smack on the hard floor.
The first time I can remember that this happened to me was when I finished secondary school. The plan had been to write WAEC, NECO and JAMB only once so I read and read and read; I'm honestly not sure I've ever read as hard as I read in my SSS3, I used to even carry my reading table and chair and put it on the walkway in front of my room every night to ensure that I didn't give in to the temptation to sleep. God blessed my efforts and I did really well in all the exams, wrote Post-UTME and passed too. The plan was that after graduating in July, I'll resume first year of University by October, finish University at 21, get called to the Bar at 22 and start Masters soon after.
First list for University of Ilorin came out, my name no dey; second list came out, nothing; till VC's list came out, my name still no dey! See how Dunsin Oyekan sang "it will do you like a dream", na so e do me but on the negative side.
I remember watching all my carefully thought out plans unravel before my eyes like joke. I was at loose ends and had absolutely no idea how I was going to begin to navigate what was my reality at the time.
Since then, I've been placed in those swept-of-my-feet-for-wrong-reasons situations quite a bit but God has helped, and still continues to help, me.
But here's something I've learned: God is never unaware of all the times life knocks you off your feet. He knows, He sees and He has a reason for letting it happen. It was years after I had stayed at home that I understood why God had to let me go through all that I went through. It may not seem like He's seeing what's happening with you, or that He can bring an end to whatever it is that is trying you but He does and He can; He sees and knows all that you're going through, there's nothing that happens to you that escapes His notice, He's never taken unawares by whatever you're going through.
Another thing I learned concerning this is the fact that when God allows you to enter the valleys of life, He's letting that happen to you because He has a plan for your life and these valley experiences will become relevant in teaching you lessons you'll need as you advance. Every valley experience has lessons that have been arranged by God to equip you with something you need to thrive as you continue through life, and you will be unable to access those things from outside the valley.
So my encouragement to you today is to trust that nothing will ever happen to you without God's authorisation; He knows it's happening and He has allowed it for a reason so trust His omnipotence and omniscience enough to walk through the path He leads you on, you'll never get lost.
I pray that God helps us to learn to trust Him in the valleys as much as much as we do when all is going well.
See you next week.
Love,
Achenyo.
PS. I may be taking a break soon so abeg if you ever no see me here on a Thursday, the break don start be dat.
