THIS CHRISTMAS...

Merry Christmas!!

How'd your day go? I hope you ate plenty meat and rested to your heart's content, but most importantly, I hope you celebrated the true celebrant of the birthday. 

I recently read a Christmas novel, whose name I can no longer remember, and I learnt something I thought to share.  

A Pastor talking about the birth of Jesus in the story spoke of the birth of Jesus being the fulfilment of the prophecy of the Prophet Isaiah; he spoke on the fact that the time between the foretelling of Jesus' birth and His actual coming spanned hundreds of years! Imagine how long people waited for the actualisation of the prophecy, the amount of people who thought the prophecy would be fulfilled in their time but it never came, the despair they may have felt! But when it became God's perfect time, of course very different from human timing, He sent Jesus to the Earth.

So for the most part, we despair and get anxious because we neglect to work with God's timing. The interesting thing about following God's timing is the fact that since He knows everything that is to happen to you, He knows the perfect time to release the fulfilment of each promise for your absolute and unadulterated enjoyment. But too often,we are focused on how we think we want our lives to be, when and how we think God's promises should be fulfilled, that we forget to trust in His omniscience. 

My encouragement for you this Christmas is this: God's working to fulfil that promise He's given you. It may not be when and how you think it'll come, but it'll come in His time and it'll be perfect for you, all you have to do is continue trusting in His power to bring His promises to fruition when due. 

I know for a fact, and as my struggles can bear witness, that it is not easy to wait on God's timing, but as we celebrate this Christmas, I want you to trust that like He did with the coming of Jesus, God will fulfill every promise to you at the perfect time.
