RAGING STORMS, SURE COMPASS!
Hi! How are you doing this fine day? I'm hoping you're fine, and if you're not, I pray God fixes whatever it is that ails you. Welcome to today's gist.
I was recently reading Brooke St James' "My one Regret" In Chapter 6, when Wynn was moving back home, there was a terrible storm on the way, it was so terrible that she was scared she would skid off the road. The only thing she could see were the blinking lights of the U-Haul trailer in front of her and that served as her compass; so for as long as she kept her gaze on those lights, she would not lose her way. She likened that situation with God, if she kept her eyes on God and continued to follow Him, she would never lose her way. And that's what today's gist is essentially about.
Too many times, we face the storms of life and it's so easy to put our focus on everywhere else but where it should be. And the thing is, when our eyes are not on God, we will definitely lose our way, that's why the storms always come -to get us to shift our focus from God, but if only we could keep our eyes on "those blinking lights", we'll never lose our way. God will never lead you along a path that will destroy you, so if you keep your eyes on Him, you can be sure that no matter the storm you face, He'll lead you through it.
Is it automatic? No! I've been at it for a little while yet I still find myself sometimes so preoccupied with the storm that I neglect to look at my Deliverer; and in those moments when I'm struggling to get myself out of the storm by my might, I find myself "skidding off the road". So, now I know and I try my best in all situations to look, not at my storm, but at Jesus because He's the only way I'm making it out.
So, I encourage you, as you walk through the storms, and good times, of life, do not let your eyes shift from The Light, He's all you need to stay on course.
Love,
Achenyo.
