CRAZY RAT RACE
Let me just first begin by saying I'm really sorry I've been absent from here for so long, there's really no excuse I can give, it was really a case of "I go write tomorrow" and the tomorrow never came. And I'm really sorry, despite what my inconsistency makes it look like, y'all have been on my mind oo, na just say e no translate from my mind to the blog.
You know how YouTubers do "life update" videos? This post is going to be a life update post, I'll be briefly filling you in on what has been happening with me since we last gisted.
Firstly, I came back home to Makurdi; I initially wasn't quick to come back home because at the back of my mind, the strike may be called off soon but here we are, 3 months, 2 weeks and 3 days, into the strike, and counting! Sha sha, God go help us. Well, I finally admitted to myself that I needed to come back home (plus dem come dey use am as song for me from house). I go to the Park to come home, go early enough to get window seat so I can be as comfortable as possible. I was second to book and the fist person has booked the other window seat so I opted for seat 3, the one behind the driver. Ashe, dem don lose their seats push them forward to make space for load, and no be the kind one wey you fit push go back oo, they reinstalled them like that. So, I literally knelt down from Jos to Makurdi, it's was cramped and an annoying journey, so much that when I got home, I just went to sleep because I was too annoyed to even talk to anybody.
Then, I decide to go and look for a law firm to intern with in Makurdi. Omo, that's when I understood how what Nollywood tries to portray, see me walking up and down Makurdi looking for a law firm to allow me intern; the first day I trekked from Shelter of Glory to Zenith Bank in High level, and no be because I no get transport oo, I felt that trekking would enable me see law firms so I can apply, then the next day, I trekked from Government house junction to Tito gate area; all of these plenty trekking na because I receive wrong directions to the place wey dem say law firms plenty for Makurdi. After interviews and insult, coded and outright, I sha finally got like two places that gave me the opportunity to intern, now tables don turn, na me come dey choose.
The next thing I did was cut my hair. Now, I had been thinking of cutting my hair for a while and I just kept getting talked out of it. Then I am in Makurdi and it seems like the place I feel hot the most is on my head, plenty headaches, my scalp became tender and was hurting a lot, plenty things were wrong with the entire situation and I just said to myself "Omo no be by force ooo" and I went to cut it. Something happened when I was going to cut the hair that I want to share: I intended to cut the hair on a Friday, I was going to go out with my mum and have her drop me off at my brother's barber. Just before we left the house, I called my friend Daniel and he now put fear in my mind concerning the cutting of the hair, so I chickened out and came home. From the moment I came home and that night, the heat was almost unbearable! It was like the heat decided to teach me a lesson for not cutting the hair. Omo, that's how the next day I packed myself straight to cut the hair, I'd learned my lesson! It's been over two weeks of having my hair cut low and I've been loving every single second of it.
Pheew! I think that's about it, you're abreast with all that's been happening to me in the last two months, I'll try my best to be consistent with my posts here from now. Please just keep bearing with me, may the new month release blessings to us.
So, how have you been? What's been up with you, gist me in the comments, I'll be waiting to read.
Love,
Achenyo.
